Phoenix, Arizona

Rising from the dry Salt River Valley to become the fifth largest US city and capital of Arizona, Phoenix lives up to its namesake, the mythical bird revived by fire. Established in the late 1880s as a farming community, today’s Phoenix spans 500 square miles. The city’s food traditions reflect its Mexican and Spanish legacy, Western frontier history, and diverse population. La Hacienda is considered one of the finest Mexican restaurants in town, while the Handlebar J Saloon serves up live country music with steaks. Fine restaurants come with patios for enjoying vivid sunsets, and are often associated with hotels and resorts. Kai, nationally acclaimed for Native American cuisine with global accents, is located at Wild Horse Pass Resort. Flamma Trattoria, a cousin of NYC-based Flamma Osteria, serves Italian fare in a sophisticated setting. Eggs Benedict and blueberry pancakes are available all day at the popular Breakfast Club in Scottsdale, while recent Asian immigrants have introduced Chinese, Thai, and Indonesian menus.

Awesome Korean Steak

Reviewed on Aug. 27, 2008 by TEESA2YOU
I made this with the exact ingredients and measurments as the original recipe posted. Normally I end up tweaking something here or there. The only thing I did change was not cutting the chuck eye's in little strips. I left them whole and put them in a ziplock freezer bag with the marinade at 10pm the night before, Then the next day at 6pm, we grilled the steaks. The flavor was awesome! Even my picky teenage daughter who swore off steak loved it. We decided for us that chuck eye's were a bit on the fatty side for us, Next time I will use petite sirloin. Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

Best Ever Pie Crust

Reviewed on Aug. 27, 2008 by WendyLady
This is an easy, good crust. It can be made for sweet pies by adding 2 tbsp sugar to recipe. I made it for both a shepards pie and for an apple pie. Not the best crust I have had but it is the best I have made so far. I will keep this recipe on hand but will also keep looking for the prize-winner! Thanks for the recipe.

No-Noodle Zucchini Lasagna

Reviewed on Aug. 27, 2008 by Sonya
I wasn't to sure about using zucchini in lasagna but was very pleased with how this turned out. I salted the zucchini but it still came out watery so next time I will make my sauce very thick to compensate even w/ that said it was still delicious !
